Since I’m over the hump of Term 2 I thought I’d take a second and show some screen captures on some of the work I’ve done and/or am still doing for this term which ends in another couple of weeks at which point I’ll have another video to show of all the work done over the past two months.
I actually don’t have time to explain each assignment listed below, I’ve got to get back to work! But these are most of the big assignments we’ve done in the last 6 weeks. This course continues to give me further appreciation for film and especially animation. For example, if one person worked on the Pixar film Wall-E, it would have taken them over 400 years to make it!
I also just recently lost all my notes and my 2D weight lift animation (100+ drawings) to a crack head who broke the window of my car and stole my bag, no joke, there was a crack pipe next to my car’s broken window. And it happened around 8pm at night, while I was watching Sucker Punch, which one of the security guards at our school is in! check him out here: Ron Selmour.
I’ll post the final term 2 video when the term is over in a couple of weeks so you can see the actual animation for the ones listed as such:
My class took a trip to the Vancouver Aquarium to research beluga whale movement. I took some reference video on that trip and decided to have some fun with it:
Here’s a little extra work I did from the skull sculpt we did earlier this term (one term is 2 months long). After sculpting the skull I had some free time one afternoon so I motion matched, using the program MatchMover, the 3D skull I sculpted to the movements of my face and then I animated the jaw a little bit:
