Happy Easter everyone! This is a video I’ve thought of doing for a little while and Easter kind of snuck up on me so I stayed up late last night to get it done before the weekend. Realannoyingorange was the inspiration behind doing this. I have watched his videos for a while now and think they are pretty clever and thought I’d take a shot at it. I’m actually surprised he hasn’t done an Easter one yet, he did a St. Patty’s video, but maybe he’s waiting till tomorrow, Friday.

I haven’t bought a big chocolate bunny in a long time so this project was a great excuse! I’m actually surprised I pulled it all off. It can be kind of difficult logistically to shoot things like this. For example, I only had one orange so I couldn’t redo anything after it was peeled. Also, most of the shots were done by taking still photos and then putting me talking back in over the pictures. I wasn’t sure which way I would go so I took video and photos of all the shots.

I definitely want to thank Eric Wiese for some good one liners, he came up with most of them: “Peeping ain’t easy.” Thanks Eric. I ended up playing all of the characters, and almost left out the bunny altogether, but really wanted to squeeze them in since I bought them for this. It took several hours to take the footage, after I storyboarded everything so I could make sure I get all the shots I needed.

One hard part was trying to keep my head still when I was doing the voices. I kept wanting to give it some sass and tilt my head every once in a while. It made for quite a bit of work post-filming. I stabilized all the shots around my face in After Effects and then just used masks to reveal my face behind the orange or candy.

It was fun to make and I hope you enjoy it, pass it along to friends and family to help enjoy the holiday weekend. Oh, and I redesigned my youtube channel a bit with new colors, check it out – and subscribe!
